We've been seeing so much in Florence. Paintings, sculptures, churches. Gelato eating, Duomo climbing... it's wonderful. Still don't have enough time to give you a full field report as I'm eating Chinese food (Thanks Tristan) and surfing the net at the same time in Siena. I do have to say that you must see Michelangelo's David statue in Accademia. It was so bad a$$.

A friend of ours was debating about the worthy cause of your trip. However, there is clearly no worthy or noble cause to your trip! If you want to talk about a worthy trip, you need to remember that our other good friend from Shadowfax, Shin, is currently taking a missionary trip to a Third World Country so that he can become a pastor. Now, I consider that to be estimable.
The antipathy between Tony and UCI made this website even more electrifying to read.
Perhaps, you are expecting an anodyne message to remove the knots from your tense shoulders. But, you should know that your whimsical nature delights no one but your own self. In your days at UCI, you were quite capricious; you could never be sure of what career you wanted to pursue. You also had a desultory academic record; changing major several times. I am utterly amazed that you--now, about 10 years later--are still unable to discern the difference between a realist and and idealist. You are an idealist; and you are drowning in it. Your fear for the future was engendered when you could not make up your mind about what to do with your life. You need to stop living on a diet of fairy tales about making it big in hollywood. Indeed, my comment will certainly cast a gloom over your entire website.
The reason why watching television and socializing are plebeian activities because they passively engage the mind; reading, on the other hand, activates one's critical thinking skills and thus, engages and elevates the mind to a higher realm.
If you ever are looking for a life-changing experience, take a trip over Antarctica. During the summer months, the sun never set; it just skims across the horizon before rising again. And the winter months, the temperature dips to 60 degree below zero. The wind easily picks up speed at 100 miles per hour.
That, my friend, is a life-changing experience.

It's people like UCI that pull people away from their dreams by forcing their own beliefs and ways upon them.
Oh and I do not consider a missionary trip to be a worthy trip. Brainwashing people by only giving them supplies for religion is not noble.

UCI, you are a bit comsumed with this website. Aren't you reflecting on your own short comings? Seems like you are the only one that doesn't have a life right now. The rest of us are living our lives. You seem frustrated that you can't do something worthy of any notation in life. If this is your only mark in life, you TOO have failed.
